Best Steaks in Hong Kong

Bistecca – 2/F, Grand Progress Building, 15-16 Lan Kwai Fong, Central

Grand Hyatt Steakhouse – Lobby Level, Grand Hyatt, 1 Harbour Road, Wan Chai

Grand Hyatt Steakhouse vs Bistecca

Steak, simple yet hard to perfect, can be either a treat or staple for men and women. Rising is the trend to eat less carbs, for a healthier lifestyle, or simply the love of carnivorous treats! Though there are many Steak Houses in Hong Kong, these are 2 of my favorites. Both serving quality meat that is both well-cooked and delicious, the atmosphere is certainly direct opposites. Price points for both are around HK$500 per person, depending on your appetite.

Bistecca is much more casual, honing an Italian diner vibe with rustic features and an open kitchen. They serve large cuts of rib-eye, T-bone and hanger steaks, fit to quench our caveman cravings. Bistecca also has a lunch buffet of salads and cold cuts, as well as a range of Italian antipasti, to fill our guilt of not having had our 5-a-day!

Bistecca Brunch Review

  • Slightly more charred than my liking, but still tasty.
  • Portions slightly smaller than the Hyatt and less juicy.

Grand Hyatt Steakhouse on the other hand, has a more moody and men’s cigar room feel. Split into 2 sittings, you can either start your meal from 6:00 to 8:30 or dine after that till 10:30Grand Hyatt Steakhouse celebrates prime cuts of Steak flown in from US, Canada and Japan, where care is taken into preparing and cooking the meat. An array of mustards and sauces, as well as luxurious sides like “truffle fries” and “french onion soup” can definitely make you feel like a King, while dining on a reasonable budget. Their T-bone, enough for 2-3 people, is a real bargain at HK$880 for 800g. The price for most top-quality meats in restaurants. Portions are also very generous, for both the sides and mains, giving you your money’s worth.

Porter House Canadian AAA

  •  Juicy, seared and crispy on the outside, with a deep, beefy flavor.

Truffled French Fries, Parmesan Cheese

  • Crispy and thinly cut, it it not only doused in truffle oil, but topped with a sprinkling or parmesan cheese!
  • Very fragrant and crispy fries.

Both Bistecca and Grand Hyatt Steakhouse are my top-choices when it comes to steak, though quality of meat from Grand Hyatt is far superior. If you are looking to have a variety of salads and cold cuts, and a family friendly space, then Bistecca maybe the way to go. Though, if you are a foodie and are in search of that mouth-watering Steak then Grand Hyatt Steakhouse should definitely be your Steakhouse of choice!
